Lara Gut moved closer to the overall World Cup title Sunday, skiing safely to ninth place in the slalom run of a combined event. Gut was 1.46 seconds behind her Switzerland teammate Wendy Holdener, the first-run leader, with her favored super-G discipline to follow. Gut seems certain to win her first overall title, and can extend her 295-point lead over Viktoria Rebensburg of Germany.
