Brewers prospect breaks his own windshield at batting practice
If anyone would know how strong Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jacob Nottingham is, you’d think it would be Jacob Nottingham himself.
Unfortunately, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound catcher, and potential heir apparent to All-Star Jonathan Lucroy, underestimated his power on Saturday. And because of that lapse in judgment, the windshield of his very own car paid the ultimate price.
What are the odds?
Apparently very good.

The truth is, we’ve seen numerous windshields shattered during batting practice and even during spring training games over the years. Like weird injuries, odd photos and Phillie Phanatic shenanigans, It’s just a part of the tradition now. And understandably so when you have guys like Giancarlo Stanton, Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber taking aim every single day.
You’d think the players would be a little more cognizant of this possibility, but we forget that at age 20, Nottingham hasn’t been doing this very long. And by that we mean more than just playing baseball, we mean having to drive himself to practice or games. He’s not fully aware of the risks you take by parking anywhere within 100 feet of those facilities, and like many young players, he’s still coming to grips with his own strength.
Consider this a lesson learned by young Jacob Nottngham, and consider this a reminder to players and fans everywhere. These men are trained baseball destroyers, and they care nothing about anyone or anything that gets in their way.
