Alpine skiing-Gut almost good for the overall prize (Reuters)
Switzerland’s Lara Gut effectively clinched the women’s Alpine skiing World Cup overall title on Sunday after finishing third in a super combined event on home snow in Lenzerheide. The outcome is a formality however since Rebensburg, who does not compete in slalom and did not race on Sunday, is entered in only three of the races at the finals. American Lindsey Vonn remains second overall, 127 points behind Gut, but she called an end to her season two weeks ago due to a knee injury.
