What’s a museum to do when they simply have too much stuff? Eastern State Penitentiary hosts Pop-Up Museum: Sports & Leisure. Get a glimpse of sports paraphernalia, rare photos — like the Phillies’ legendary Connie Mack with Warden Cornelius Burke (fun fact: Mack’s real first name was also Cornelius) — and a short film from 1929 about sports and recreation.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
16th Street and JFK Boulevard up the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a long-running Philadelphia tradition (since 1771), features floats, Irish dancers, and bands aplenty. The theme this year celebrates those who fought in the 1916 Easter Rising. Can’t make it? Watch the parade on Fox 29.
