In 22 seconds, McDavid reminds everyone why he was No. 1 (Video)
It was finally the Jack Eichel-Connor McDavid show in Buffalo. Each man downplayed the event as just another hockey game. At least, that’s what they said.
Then the puck dropped, and McDavid [metaphorically] asked one simple question, “Do you like apples?”
A brief 22 seconds into the game, he responded with an emphatic, “HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?” as he deked his way past the outstretched limbs of Buffalo Sabres netminder Robin Lehner.
Yes, Eichel had nothing to do with this play, but everyone will talk about it as if he did. In the first period, McDavid and Eichel went head-to-head on the dot with Connor taking two of the three faceoffs. After one period of play, the Oilers led by McDavid’s goal.
Now it’s your turn, Jack. Time to amaze us! Do it for America!
