Player Analysis: By The Numbers Week 28
Monday, February 29, 2016
It’s time for a super quick post as we’ve only got one day between last week and this Tuesday’s games. Last week’s predictor did well with the top four selections all coming in – in fact it was correct for over 70% of the games.
This week is obviously one of those where the stats can’t be too closely followed. Why? Well the stakes are too high for many teams. Leicester for example are favourites at home to West Brom but they’re really very big favourites because they’re defending 1stplace against a mid-table team. Stoke are at home to Newcastle making them favourites but Newcastle are in the relegation zone so they have plenty of motivation. Aston Villa have been awful this season but they are in the relagtion zone facing a team down in 12th. Who has the motivation?
Here’s this week’s predictor:

So, there’s actually five teams that look good this week: Leicester, Stoke, Arsenal, Sunderland & Manchester United. Sunderland have the biggest question mark over them on paper but 19thplace at home against 14thplace should be motivation enough.
So let’s have a look at the Poisson

Well the highest scoring game looks set to be West Ham at home to Spurs but let’s be honest, Spurs have made a habit of performing well at other grounds this season so I wouldn’t bet against them. There looks to be goals in the Arsenal match too – sure, it looks Arsenal’s to lose but I don’t think that they will do it to nil.
That’s it for this week, I’ll see you a little later.
