Young Avalanche fan to Jeremy Roenick: ‘Hit the gym’ (Video)
At the NHL’s Stadium Series game in Denver between the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche, NHL on NBC analyst Jeremy Roenick went into a cage to where those in attendance could see how hard they could shoot a ball into a net.
There Roenick filmed a bit with a young Avs fan named Joey, who fired a shot at 31 miles per hour. Roenick, who scored 513 goals in his NHL career then stepped up and pumped a shot at 35 miles per hour.
While celebrating, the 46-year-old Roenick tried to make the youngster feel better, noting that Joey weighed about 160 pounds less than Roenick. Joey then went right back at Roenick saying, “I can tell. You should probably hit the gym.”
A video of the encounter is above.
This isn’t the first time an interview subject has recently made a funny dig at Roenick. At the NHL All-Star Game, Pacific Division captain John Scott needled Roenick for saying Scott didn’t belong in the game. Roenick also came face-to-face with Ryan O’Relly at the game and apologized for saying O’Reilly was “overrated and overpaid.”
