Kentucky DE Jason Hatcher charged with trafficking marijuana
Kentucky defensive end Jason Hatcher was arrested for trafficking marijuana early Monday morning after a routine speeding stop.
He was dismissed from the program.
Hatcher, 21, was initially stopped for driving 11 miles over the speed limit, but the deputy smelled marijuana when he approached the vehicle. The deputy found a quarter of a pound of marijuana hidden in Hatcher’s pants and three quarters of marijuana in another bag on the floor.
Hatcher was previously cited for marijuana possession in May 2014.
Hatcher was booked in the Franklin County Regional Jail and his arraignment was schedule for Monday morning.
Hatcher, a 6-foot-3, 252-pound junior, has played outside linebacker and defensive end for the Wildcats. He was a part-time starter last season, but was expected to be a bigger contributor this year. In 21 games, Hatcher had 47 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 quarterback sacks.
