Video: Denny Hamlin pokes fun at Brad Keselowski’s basketball skills
Denny Hamlin didn’t think very long when he was asked by Dan Patrick who the least athletic NASCAR driver was on Friday.
“Brad Keselowski.”
Why Keselowski?
“Why, please go on YouTube,” Hamlin said. “Please go on YouTube and find Brad Keselowski dribbling a basketball at a Hornets game. The whole argument of NASCAR guys and drivers. he just ruined it for all of us.”
Since we are a servant of the people here at From the Marbles, here’s the video of Keselowski from 2010 at a then-Charlotte Bobcats game.
Yeah, it’s fun to watch. Hamlin’s (good-natured) comment got a well-played comeback from Keselowski on Twitter.
Hamlin made sure to cover his bases after Keselowski’s tweet.
Hamlin, winner of last weekend’s Sprint Unlimited, was asked by Patrick about the debate if drivers were athletes. After he answered Keselowski, Patrick immediately asked if it was close between Tony Stewart and Keselowski for the title of least athletic. And Hamlin gave a good answer about the driver athleticism debate. Yes, drivers are athletes. They just don’t fit the normal definition of what an athlete is.
“Gosh, it’s close,” Hamlin said. “But here’s the thing, here’s what I always argue about this athlete thing. We all know that defensive linemen or offensive linemen, those guy are athletes. Just because they’re big and fat doesn’t mean they aren’t athletes. There’s a different in having athletic ability and having athletic build in my opinion.”
The back-and-forth between Keselowski and Hamlin continued throughout the morning too.
@keselowski @dpshow @NASCAR please tell me what you googled to find this picture 😂😂😂
