Sources: Ex-Marquette star Novak to join Bucks
Former Marquette star Steve Novak, after stops with nine NBA teams, is headed back to the state of Wisconsin.
League sources told ESPN.com that the perimeter specialist intends to sign a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday or Monday after clearing waivers.
On Friday, Novak secured a buyout from the Denver Nuggets, who had just acquired him Thursday in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Over his 10-year NBA career, Novak has played for the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City.
If the deal with Milwaukee goes through, as expected, Novak will play for Bucks coach Jason Kidd, with whom he was a teammate in New York.
Novak was a high school star in Wisconsin before joining Dwyane Wade on Marquette’s Final Four team as a freshman.
