Sons of MLB stars swing big in Caribbean Series home run derby
Fans at the Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo got a sneak peek at the future of Dominican baseball.
The sons of David Ortiz, Juan Uribe and Francisco Cordero were among the kids to swing big in a mini home run derby in between Caribbean Series games and their big-league dads were in the house to provide some coaching and encouragement.

With a fence set up just beyond the infield grass as their target, the boys competed to see who could launch the most home runs, and it was 8-year-old Luis Amaury Roque, son of career minor-leaguer Amaury Roque, who came out on top.
Smiling kids and proud papas. That’s what baseball is all about.
