Rapper Paul Wall welcomes Houston signees on Twitter
Paul Wall is a big part of Houston’s National Signing Day.
The Houston rapper fitted coach Tom Herman with a custom diamond grill during the season, a grill Herman promised his team he’d get if the Cougars won the American Athletic Conference. Houston did, and so Herman got his grill.
Now, Wall is included in Houston’s Twitter welcoming committee for its official commitments. The rapper is recording custom welcome videos to the recruits Houston signs throughout the day.
It doesn’t take the most observant of people to notice that Wall’s grill is prominent in the videos. Gotta capitalize on those diamonds.
Thanks to the Cougars’ conference title and a win over Florida State in the Peach Bowl, Houston’s done well on the recruiting trail. The Cougars currently have the no. 31 ranked class in the country according to Rivals, ahead of such schools as USC and Mississippi State. Houston’s class includes five-star defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who signed with the team Wednesday morning. Instead of a video from Wall, he got a welcome from Slim Thug. Houston’s rolling.
