Police said another man who arrived with the gunman was also shot in the chest or neck and was taken to a local hospital. It’s unclear what might have motivated the killing.

He had played sparingly this season and just recently returned to action after not playing in 10 consecutive games. He played one minute and didn’t record any statistics in a victory at Samford on Monday night.

Some of his teammates shared thoughts about his passing on social media on Tuesday as police continued to search for his killer. Police told the Macon Telegraph they had good leads in the case.
