Royals unveil tremendous billboard commemorating World Series win
In case you needed a reminder, baseball season is approaching quickly. Teams report to camp in less than a month, and spring training games will be played before you know it.

While it’s unlikely you forgot, the Kansas City Royals are coming off an amazing postseason which culminated in the team winning its first World Series title since 1985. For those of you who needed a memory jolt, the Royals put up an exceptional billboard in Kansas City celebrating the achievement.
The billboard is a callback to the moment immediately following the team’s Game 5 win, in which Salvador Perez doused manager Ned Yost in ice water. The scene can be viewed in the video below (skip to the 3:35 mark to see Yost get hit with the water). It’s not the actual photo from that game, though. You’ll notice Perez is wearing the light blue jersey on the billboard. The team was wearing their home whites on the night they won the World Series.
Still, we’re willing to let that slide. It doesn’t really matter what game the image is from. What matters is that the Royals won the World Series, and this billboard absolutely gets the point across.
Aside from the memories it evokes, we have to say, the billboard looks pretty great. The Gatorade bucket really looks like it’s coming at you, and the water seems pretty realistic. Great job by everyone involved.

Baseball is getting closer. While it may currently be cold outside, teams are already planting the seeds for a successful season through their marketing. The Royals may be the current champs, but your team could be next. Optimistic fans can start dreaming up next year’s World Series billboard right now.
