Topps turns Mike Trout’s wall-climbing catch into baseball card
which took place at Angel Stadium on Sept. 26.
At age 24, Mike Trout has already provided several incredible moments that will live on in baseball lore. High on that list would have to be Trout’s most recent breathtaking webgem,That would be the catch where Trout literally climbed the outfield wall in Anaheim to take a three-run home run away from Seattle’s Jesus Montero.

One could certainly argue it was the best catch in baseball during the 2015 season. We ranked it fourth in our year-end countdown, in case you were curious. It was also arguably the greatest catch of Trout’s already decorated career, though his leaping grab in Baltimore, which was immortalized in bobblehead form, is awful tough to beat.
One thing that can’t be argued though is just how aesthetically pleasing the catch was. If only someone could have captured an action photo as Trout sat atop the wall and caught the ball, it would make one outstanding baseball card.
And would you look at that. Topps comes through in a big way, not only making Trout’s excellent grab into a baseball card, but making it the No. 1 card for their 2016 baseball collection.
It was actually up to the fans to vote on which player was featured on the card. Trout got the nod there, and then Topps did the rest in creating a truly memorable card that would be a welcomed addition to any collection.
“It’s awesome,” Trout said in a statement released by Topps. “I appreciate the support from fans across MLB. It’s pretty special to be the No. 1 card for Topps.”

In this age of social media and advanced technology, there’s no way a play like this will ever fade away from our memories. It will always be there somewhere, waiting to be replayed and relived. Still, it’s pretty cool to know a baseball card will exist that will immediately bring fans back to that moment and make them wish to relive it again.
In all honesty, this is a special honor for a special player who made a now iconic play.
