Klopp: Liverpool had the bigger chances
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he was pleased with his team’s performance in Saturday’s 0-0 FA Cup fourth round draw with West Ham at Anfield, but lamented their failure to make the most of it.
The Merseysiders produced the bulk of the dangerous football against a below-par Hammers side but could not find a breakthrough — and they now face a difficult Upton Park replay.
And their manager told BT Sport: “We had the bigger chances, but now we have to play again.
“West Ham have good quality in their team and play well in the league. We tried everything, but you need a bit of luck.
“We had a few set plays that were not too bad. We had our chances, you need that bit of luck, but there was nothing to criticise.”
Klopp said he was “pleased with the whole team” and praised January loan signing Steven Caulker, saying he “played for the first time in his position in defence and did well.”
He added: “The players defended well, they played brave football and had good structure. At the end it was a draw, and so we will try again.”
