Corey Seager leads multiple top-prospect lists
Two of the major prospect-ranking outlets have released their preseason lists, and the same man ranks at the top of both. MLB.com (top 100 here) and Baseball Prospectus (top 101 here) have each tabbed Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager as the top prospect in all of baseball.
Seager, 21, got a taste of the bigs last season and made quite the impression. He hit .337/.425/.561 (173 OPS+!) with eight doubles, a triple, four homers, 17 RBI, 17 runs and two steals in 113 plate appearances. Since he didn’t get to 130 at-bats or 45 days of regular-season service time, his rookie status is intact for 2016 and he’s eligible to be ranked as a “prospect” on these lists.

Past Seager, the two outlets agreed on the top three overall prospects, both having Twins outfielder Byron Buxton second and Nationals pitcher Lucas Giolito third.
Prospects listed in both top 10s:
J.P. Crawford, SS, Phillies (4th BP, 5th MLB)
Julio Urias, SP, Dodgers (6th BP, 4th MLB)
Yoan Moncada, 2B, Red Sox (7th BP, 7th MLB)
Joey Gallo, 3B/OF, Rangers (8th BP, 9th MLB)
Again, those interested can check the full lists at MLB.com (top 100 here) and Baseball Prospectus (top 101 here). And for the top 100 fantasy baseball prospects for this season, check out Scott White’s top 100, which also has Seager at the top before going with Mets pitcher Steven Matz in the two-hole.
