No. 1 Star: Daniel Sedin, Vancouver Canucks
When Sedin knocked home a rebound at 7:03 of the third period, he passed Markus Naslund with his 347th career goal to become the Canucks’ franchise goal-scoring leader. Goal No. 348 came at 19:37 into an empty net, as Sedin and the Canucks defeated the Boston Bruins, 4-2.
No. 2 Star: Travis Zajac, New Jersey Devils
Zajac had a four-point night with a goal and three assists – all of them coming in the first period, all of them coming on the Devils’ first four goals – in New Jersey’s 6-3 win over the Ottawa Senators. It was the third time in his career he had a four-point night.
No. 3 Star: Eddie Lack, Carolina Hurricanes
Lack and James Reimer had a goalie duel until Jordan Staal’s overtime goal ended it. Lack made 23 saves in the Hurricanes’ 1-0 win over the Leafs.
Honorable Mention: Phil Kessel scored two goals and Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist as the Pittsburgh Penguins threw 45 shots at the Philadelphia Flyers in their 4-3 win. The Pens rallied with four straight goals after the Flyers went up 2-0. … Sam Bennett scored twice in the Calgary Flames’ 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. … Nikita Kucherov scored the game-winner on the power play as the Tampa Bay Lightning snapped the Chicago Blackhawks’ 12-game winning streak and moved their own to seven games. … Pekka Rinne was strong in making 26 saves as the Nashville Predators defeated the Winnipeg Jets, 4-1. James Neal and Ryan Johansen had a goal and an assist. … The Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers, 3-2, to snap a four-game losing streak. Jason Spezza had a goal and an assist. … Martin Jones made 23 saves in the San Jose Sharks’ 3-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes. … Darcy Kuemper had 32 saves in pitching the shutout at the Los Angeles Kings. Zach Parise snapped an 11-game power-play drought for the Minnesota Wild. … Wild center Jarret Stoll received a standing ovation during a video tribute in his first appearance at Staples Center since he left the Kings last summer after seven seasons.
