The A’s made a rockin’ Sean Doolittle gnome that plays Metallica
The Oakland Athletics have another great giveaway on their hands: They’ve created a gnome of closer and noted metalhead Sean Doolittle that plays Metallica’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls.”
Doolittle enters the game to that song, so it’s only fitting — as is the Metallica shirt he’s wearing and the metal horns he’s throwing up with his pitching hand. The music is the real winner here, though. Here’s some audio/video to prove it:
The A’s are giving these to the first 15,000 fans at the ballpark on April 30 when they play the Houston Astros.Â

Oakland has a strong history in the bobblehead/gnome game. Last year, they gave away a bobblehead of Stephen Vogt dressed up like a basketball referee with sound. In 2013 they released one of the better bobbleheads in recent history — a moving Coco Crisp that did the “Bernie Lean” dance.
Rock on, A’s.
