Brian McGrattan knocked out, stretchered off after AHL fight (Video)

There was an absolutely frightening moment during Tuesday’s AHL game between the San Diego Gulls and San Antonio Rampage.
With the Gulls leading 1-0 in the second period, Brian McGrattan and Daniel Maggio squared off. After a flurry of punches, Maggio caught McGrattan with a right hand, knocking him out cold. As McGrattan fell to the ice, he landed face first. Immediately players and officials signaled for help.
A stretcher was called, and the Gulls later Tweeted that McGrattan was conscious and alert and had full movement.
McGrattan, who has over 100 fights under his belt, according to HockeyFights.com, was signed by the Anaheim Ducks over the summer after splitting last season with the Calgary Flames and their AHL affiliate in Adirondack. He’s recorded five goals and eight points in 36 games this season for San Diego.
