Report: Giants hire Ben McAdoo as next head coach
The New York Giants’ coaching search has ended up with an in-house candidate, as several reports indicate that offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo will be getting the job.
McAdoo has worked in the NFL in a variety of capacities since 2004, with stints in New Orleans, San Francisco and Green Bay prior to joining former Giants coach Tom Coughlin’s staff in 2014.
McAdoo apparently impressed the Giants brass in a hurry; he had an interview with the Giants on Tuesday in addition to an interview with NFC East rival Philadelphia. Several reports indicated that the Eagles were prepared to hire McAdoo, so the Giants clearly needed to make a move quickly to retain him.
Coaching changes are always in flux this time of year, but it appears that at least some of Tom Coughlin’s staff will remain in place under McAdoo:
