Drew Storen was ‘doing a little Netflix and chill’ when traded
Kids, man. What’s their deal? When they aren’t meddling in the affairs of Scooby Doo villains, they are coming up with new slang to confuse generations that came before them.
One of the more recent phrases the kids are using these days is “Netflix and chill.” Seems innocent enough, right? WRONG! A quick Internet search reveals that the term is actually a euphemism for being intimate with one’s partner. It’s the new “making whoopie.”

For the uneducated, misusing this phrase can be devastating. New Toronto Blue Jays reliever Drew Storen may have run into that exact situation Tuesday.
Oops. We’re going to guess Storen didn’t use the phrase the same way all these youngsters intended. He was probably literally chilling on his couch and watching a show on Netflix with his wife. Either that, or he’s really into oversharing.
In fact, we pretty much know that Storen was actually watching television. On the day the trade broke, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet said Storen was in the middle of watching the show “Making a Murderer” when he received the news.
While it’s an unfortunate mistake, it’s hard for us to blame Storen here. Keeping up with the kids these days is tough. Not all of us have the time to look up the meaning of “on fleek.”

Let this be a lesson to all you cool dads out there. The phrase “Netflix and chill” may seem harmless, but you’ll send a really strange message when using it in front of your teenage child and their friends. Learn from Drew Storen on this one.
