Navy QB Keenan Reynolds attending State of the Union on Tuesday
Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds is making the short trip from Annapolis, Maryland, to Washington D.C. on Tuesday evening.
The record-setting QB will be in attendance at President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address. It’s a big honor for Reynolds, who finished fifth in the 2015 Heisman Trophy voting.
According to the school, Reynolds will be a guest of Tennessee Rep. Jim Cooper (D). Cooper represents Tennessee’s Fifth District and his district includes Antioch, Tennessee, Reynolds’ hometown. The address is Obama’s final State of the Union before he departs office in 2017.
Navy finished the 2015 season with 11 wins, the most in school history, after defeating Pitt in the Military Bowl. Reynolds took back the career FBS touchdown record (88) in that game and also finished his career with the most rushing yards ever by a quarterback (4,559).
His fifth-place finish in the Heisman voting is the best for a Navy player since Roger Staubach in 1963.
