Ford unveils new Sprint Cup Series car nose
The Ford cars will look a bit different in 2016.
To match the production car nose, the Sprint Cup Series cars will have a different-looking nose for the upcoming season. Here’s what it’ll look like.
“There’s no mistaking we’re here to win races and championships,” said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. “And we believe the new NASCAR Fusion will be a powerful tool in the hands of our teams and drivers.
“Aerodynamics are more important than ever at the speeds these cars run,” he added, “so we used some of the best wind tunnel and computational fluid dynamics technology available to create this new Fusion. Fortunately, the Ford design team gave us a great car with which to start.”
Here’s a look at the Ford nose for the 2015 cars.
Ford’s best performing team was Team Penske in 2015. Roush Fenway Racing provides equipment to Richard Petty Motorsports and recently announced a technical alliance with Front Row Motorsports. Penske will also provide equipment for the Wood Brothers, who are running the entire 2016 schedule with Ryan Blaney.
