Chiefs’ Jeremy Maclin ruled out with knee injury
The Kansas City Chiefs moved on in the playoffs with relative ease against the Houston Texans in the wild-card round, but they might be doing it without their leading receiver.
Jeremy Maclin, in his first season with the Chiefs after signing as a free agent, suffered a right knee injury in the third quarter. He didn’t return to the game and an MRI is scheduled for Sunday. At the time of his injury, Maclin had three catches for 29 yards.
The former Philadelphia Eagles standout had a career-high 87 receptions this season, for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 starts. He tore the ACL in his right knee earlier in his career.
Texans’ All-Pro defensive end J.J. Watt was injured on the same play as Maclin, but returned to the Houston sideline after a brief visit to the locker room.
