WVU S DaeJuan Funderburk dismissed after indecent exposure charge
DaeJuan Funderburk has been dismissed from the team after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and indecent exposure following an incident during the Mountaineers’ Cactus Bowl trip to Scottsdale, Arizona.
West Virginia safetyDaeJuan Funderburk, a redshirt freshman, was arrested on Jan. 1 at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch after he allegedly pulled down his pants and exposed his genitalia to a female member of the hotel’s cleaning crew. He also allegedly became aggressive toward the woman and inappropriately touched her.
The woman reported the incident to her coworkers and the police.
Funderburk was originally arrested and held on suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure and public sexual indecency, but the city prosecutor dropped all but the disorderly conduct and indecent exposure charges.
Funderburk was sentenced to five days in jail and fines.
Funderburk redshirted in 2014 and did not register any stats in 2015.
