Roman Polak ejected for boarding Tyler Toffoli (Video)
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Roman Polak was thrown out of Thursday’s game at the Los Angeles Kings for boarding winger Tyler Toffoli.
The play happened near the end of the first period of the game. A video of the hit is above. Polak was defending Toffoli when the winger quickly turned after he picked up a loose puck.
Toffoli stayed down for a few minutes after the play. He eventually skated off under his own power and went to the dressing room. Polak was given a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct.
Toffoli returned to start the second period of the game. He tops the Pacific Division leading Kings with 19 goals.The Maple Leafs are trying to get back-to-back wins in Southern California. On Wednesday they beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-0.
