Nikolaj Ehlers, Bobby Farnham hit with $2K fines for diving (Video)
Nikolaj Ehlers of the Winnipeg Jets and Bobby Farnham of the New Jersey Devils are each $2,000 lighter in the wallet Thursday after the NHL announced both have been fined for diving/embellishment.
Since there’s a fine being handed out that means both players received warnings from the NHL at least once already this season.
Ehlers was warned on Nov. 21, according to the NHL, and triggered a fine after going down a tad too easy during a Dec. 29 game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Farnham’s was much more dramatic. After hearing from the NHL following a Nov. 22 game, the Devils forward pulled a Superman against Ottawa on Dec. 30.
The next time either are caught diving or embellishing the fine goes up to $3,000. If either gets punished twice more than their head coach will be $2,000 lighter in the wallet.
