Hawks’ organist Sir Foster will make an endless ‘Video Review’ fun
One of the negative side effects of the NBA’s drive to get calls correct with replay reviews has been the preponderance of in-game delays. Yes, it’s important to make sure the referees do not make mistakes, but it often comes at the expense of an enjoyable viewing experience. It’s not always a good thing to sacrifice flow to confirm an out-of-bounds call most people already seemed to agree on anyway.

The Atlanta Hawks and their legendary in-house organist Sir Foster have a solution to replay-induced boredom — new song fittingly titled “Video Review.” The plan is to play the video during reviews at Philips Arena, presumably so fans can pass the time by dancing and having some fun. Will you join them?
We have to hand it to the Foster and the Hawks production staff for the quality of their work. It would have been very easy to do a standard silly video with Harry the Hawk and various other goofy scenes. But it takes true excellence to throw in a referee watching video in a public bathroom. It’s that sort of thoughtful touch that elevates the clever to the transcendent.
