Chris Archer found an old law school photo of Rob Manfred
Everyone has that one school picture they wish they could erase from history. Sometimes, all it takes is a poor choice of clothes or an awful trendy hairstyle to ruin a photo.
Look, we’ve all been there. And all we can do is hope that our embarrassing photos are never released to the public.
Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred no longer has that ability. Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer managed to get his hands on an old law school photo of Manfred, and wasted no time sharing it with the masses.
That’s cold, Chris. That’s cold.
As Archer explains, he received the picture from one of his dad’s friend. That friend attended Harvard with commissioner Manfred.
While we can appreciate an embarrassing photo as much as the next person, we can’t help but worry about Archer for sending this out. It’s probably not a great idea to poke fun at a man who has absolute power. Manfred could suspend Archer for this sleight and claim it was “in the best interest of the game.” Archer would be powerless to stop it.
That probably won’t happen. We would like to think Manfred has a good sense of humor, and can simply laugh off the picture. Still, be careful out there, Chris Archer. The game is better, and more entertaining, when you’re out there on the mound.
