Durant rejoins Thunder for Grizzlies matchup
OKLAHOMA CITY — Thunder forward Kevin Durant will play Wednesday night against Memphis after sitting out Oklahoma City’s game Monday night against Sacramento because of a sprained right big toe.
Thunder coach Billy Donovan said Durant was injured when he accidentally kicked someone at Charlotte last Saturday. Without him, the Thunder lost 116-104 to the Kings.
Durant, the 2013-14 MVP, missed most of last season with a broken bone in his right foot that required three surgeries, but he since has returned to his previous form. He was named co-Western Conference player of the month with teammate Russell Westbrook this week. He helped the Thunder go 12-3 in December, scoring 20 or more points all 15 games. He averaged 24.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 50.8 percent.
