Player Analysis: By The Numbers Week 21
Unfortunately, what goes up has to come down. After an earth shattering couple of weeks, I managed my lowest score of the season in the Premier League game. This annoyingly knocked me out of the cup in the third round and moved me out about 50,000 places. Of course, with such a poor week I can only assume that I moved only 50,000 places because a lot of other managers had similar downfalls. On the plus side, I managed to continue my good run on Perfect XI, scoring 161.75 points and moving up to 16th in the Rotoworld league and missing out on the top 100 overall by just 4 points.
Moving on, I managed to put together an automated tool for players of Mondogoal. If you want to choose your best team when attacking those big tournaments, then you should head over to www.imawinner.co.uk and check out my Mondogoal Strategy tool.
So, where are we up to this week? Here’s the predictor:
Predictor
This week finally sees a team I can get behind at the top – yep, Stoke. They may not be the sexiest team going but they have been grinding out results week after week and are actually 4th overall for home teams over the last six games. On the flipside, Norwich are 18th overall for away teams over their last six games so this looks really obvious.
City are next in the list and I can agree with the predictor but I would very much doubt that they’ll win to nil. I actually have a sneaking suspicion that it’s Barkley’s turn to pop up with a goal this time.
Then come Chelsea who seem to be resurgent but, let’s be honest, who didn’t expect that after Mourinho left? I’m still disappointed with their hijinks – I can’t imagine it flying in any company around the world where the workers decided to perform badly in an effort to get rid of their boss but they got what they wanted so…moving on…
Swansea. Yep. I know, it’s only because they’re facing Sunderland. Personally, I think that the predictor might well have this wrong because I can see Van Aanholt popping up with another one here.
Poisson
This week looks a little more goal happy thankfully with Everton/City, Spurs/Leicester & Southampton/Watford all looking to be heated exchanges. You should be focussing your attacking selections here but please, run a mile from any of their defenders (I say that with Dier and Alderweireld in my PL.com team).
Defenders and goalkeepers look better picks from Palace, Chelsea and….Sunderland. It’s not often that I suggest away teams but I think that this is actually a good idea this week. On that note, I’ll see you next week.
