Pistons make Obama ‘sing’ ‘Jumpman’ to get Drummond All-Star votes
At the end of the first round of voting for February’s 2016 NBA All-Star Game in Toronto, Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond found himself in third place among Eastern Conference frontcourt players with 148,278 votes, trailing only forwards LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers (357,937) and Paul George of the Indiana Pacers (283,785). But if he’s going to hold off New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony — who had 132,119 at last count, and might’ve just gotten a major boost with a little help from his friends — he’s going to need a little help from some high-profile boosters.
Luckily, the Pistons know a couple of guys who might be able to help: American leader President Barack Obama and Canadian leader Drake.

However much work went into picking through and chopping up Obama footage to get a word-perfect cut-up recitation of “Jumpman” from Drake and Future’s “What a Time to Be Alive,” it was worth it. Hope you enjoyed your day in the sun, National Association of Rims spot. We’ve got a new leader in the get-out-the-All-Star-vote commercial clubhouse. Bravo, Pistons. We don’t know what you’ve got coming next, but after today, we’re pretty sure that you’ll be up to something. (Woo.)
