NHL Three Stars: Tyson Barrie’s 4-point night; Ryan wins for Sens
No. 1 Star: Tyson Barrie, Colorado Avalanche
The Avs defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 4-1, and Barrie had a hand in all of those tallies. He opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the second period; under six minutes later, Barrie scored again, his sixth of the season. In the third period, he added two primary assists on goals by Matt Duchene and Jarome Iginla. Semyon Varlamov had 30 saves.
No. 2 Star: Bobby Ryan, Ottawa Senators
Ryan had a 3-point night in leading the Sens to a 3-2 overtime win over the St. Louis Blues. Ryan assisted on Mike Hoffman’s power-play goal in the second. In the third, Ryan scored at 5:01 to tie the game. Then at 2:33 of a wild overtime, Ryan put the game away – turning the puck over, having it turned back over to him and then scoring.
No. 3 Star: Cam Talbot, Edmonton Oilers
Talbot made 29 saves, holding the fort until Andrej Sekera’s overtime winner at 2:47, as the Oilers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes, 1-0. It was Talbot’s first shutout as an Oiler.
Honorable Mention: Tyler Toffoli scored his 19th. … Shane Doan scored two goals and Louis Domingue made 35 saves as the Arizona Coyotes defeated the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2. Laurent Dauphin scored his first NHL goal. Daniel Sedin scored No. 17 after taking a puck to the mouth. … Petr Mrazek made 22 saves and Dylan Larkin scored goal No. 14 in spectacular fashion as the Detroit Red Wings shut out the New Jersey Devils, 1-0.

Dishonorable Mention: There were three puck over the glass delay of game penalties in the Colorado vs. Los Angeles game. … Chris Higgins and Bo Horvat were a minus-2.
