Jim Harbaugh apparently fires at 49ers’ coaching disarray
This time last year, the San Francisco 49ers couldn’t rid themselves of Jim Harbaugh fast enough, despite the fact that Harbaugh had been incredibly successful and taken the 49ers to three playoff appearances, two division championships and a Super Bowl. On Sunday, the 49ers fired Harbaugh’s replacement, Jim Tomsula, after a single uninspired season.
Harbaugh took to Twitter to offer up this not-so-cryptic tweet:
Harbaugh had his differences with 49ers ownership, to put it politely. Tomsula, a member of Harbaugh’s staff, was apparently campaigning for the head coaching job behind Harbaugh’s back, so you can see why Harbaugh might not be too broken up at his former assistant losing his job.
Harbaugh, meanwhile, has landed on his feet in Michigan, retooling the school’s beleaguered image in a single season. Game, set and match: Harbaugh.
