Who will win, Eagles or Giants? Predictions from ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CBS … – NJ.com
Just as everyone expected, it all comes down to this.
Eagles. Giants. Week 17.
The winner…doesn’t have to go London next season.
Ok, so the stakes aren’t exactly what either the Eagles or Giants had in mind just a few weeks ago, when both seemed headed towards a Week 17 showdown for the NFC East title.
Instead, the Washington Redskins have already clinched, and both the Eagles and Giants will be sitting at home during the playoffs.
So who will win this battle royale?
Here is a collection of picks:
NJ.com:
Eliot Shorr-Parks: This is the kind of game Sam Bradford is made for. With nothing on the line, Bradford should turn in a great game, making everyone around the league think he has finally arrived, six seasons later. The Eagles defense, however, won’t let Bradford get the win — another trademark for the quarterback. Giants 41, Eagles 17
Mark Eckel: Can’t wait for this one. Giants give head coach Tom Coughlin a going away present. Eagles don’t do the same for interim coach Pat Shurmur. Giants 41, Eagles 31
ESPN:
Of the 13 experts polled, only five picked the Eagles, and eight picked the Giants.

Eagles owner Jeff Lurie needs to learn how to split the difference. He stuck with Andy Reid for probably a couple seasons too long, and now he has ended the Chip Kelly era after just 47 games, which is a bit prematurely in my estimation. As for embattled Giants coach Tom Coughlin’s situation, he’s a great coach who has done great things for the franchise. But I think his best work in New York has long since been done, and the Giants have given him every chance to get things turned around. When you miss the playoffs in six of the previous seven years, including four in a row, it’s time to try another direction. Here’s hoping that Coughlin and the club come to a mutual decision and he’s sent out in the style he deserves. Giants 34, Eagles 23
EAGLES: Interview first head coach candidate
CBS Sports: (via Pete Prisco)
This could be the last game for Tom Coughlin as coach, and I expect his team to come out and play hard. The Eagles were awful losing to the Redskins last week, looking lifeless. The Giants still fight here and win it. Giants 33, Eagles 27
THE NO-HUDDLE SHOW, Ep. 23: Eagles fire Chip Kelly and Howie Roseman might be to blame
After the unexpected “release” of Chip Kelly on Tuesday night, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie pulled the plug on an experiment that was supposed to take the team from good to great. Now what? Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or Stitcher.
