Todd Frazier’s young son can hit one-handed home runs
Like father, like son. That’s the old saying, and it seems to apply to All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier and his young son Blake.
Frazier, who was victorious at the 2015 Home Run Derby in Cincinnati, was throwing some soft toss batting practice to Blake over New Year’s weekend, and Blake lit him up like a burning smokestack at Great American Ballpark. We’re talking absolute rockets that would have defenders on their heels.
Just check out this bat speed here and the old-school open stance.
That’s some one-handed power that will make dad proud and catch the attention of scouts everywhere.
It’s also interesting to note that young Blake is hitting left-handed, while dad is among baseball’s most prolific right-handed power hitters. Regardless of which way he’s hitting though, Blake is a natural. Perhaps there’s a home run derby in his future too.
As far as the most impressive home run hit by a Frazier, that still belongs to dad. Remember this one against the Rockies in 2012?
No hands, no problem.
When you can toss the bat and still hit it around 400 feet, you’re a special hitter. That’s why the Chicago White Sox traded for Frazier this winter, and that’s why Sox fans are definitely going to love having Todd around. And Blake, too.
