Maryland and Northwestern provide wildly entertaining 30 seconds
No. 4 Maryland went on the road to Northwestern on Saturday and had little trouble beating a suddenly very competitve team in Evanston 72-59, but if all you saw from the game was the sequence from the tweet below, you would have thought it was a much more competitive game.
It’s hard to imagine 30 seconds of basketball in which only two points are scored being more enjoyable than this.
So, @umterps and @nu_sports just combined for one of the craziest sequences you’ll ever see in a basketball game https://t.co/0VzLi21vHd

In case you weren’t counting, the teams went end-to-end five times there with five missed shots, three blocks, a steal and Northwestern guard Bryant McIntosh seemingly scoring on accident on what appeared to be a lob toward the rim for a teammate.
Maryland jumped to a 20-point lead in the first half and staved off the Huskies in the second half to improve to 13-1 and 2-0 in the Big Ten. Northwestern is now 13-2 and 1-1 in conference play and it wouldn’t be a surprise this season to see the Huskies beat some longtime rivals who have beat up on them over the years.
