Jaromir Jagr’s two goals help Panthers to 9th straight win (Video)
The Jaromir Jagrs, also known as the Florida Panthers, continued their red-hot run on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild, extending their win streak to nine games.
The 43-year old soon-to-be mulleted wonder opened the scoring 27 seconds into the game with a gorgeous backhand that beat Wild netminder Devan Dubnyk five-hole.
Let’s hear the Spanish call via 1210 ESPN Deportes:
Midway through the third period, with the score even at one, we got to see vintage Jagr as he took the puck and cut across the Minnesota zone before firing a wrist shot past Dubnyk.
According to the NHL, Florida extended franchise records with the ninth straight victory and seventh straight win at BB&T Center.
The two goals give Jagr, who will turn 44 next month, 735 for his career, six behind Brett Hull for third on the NHL’s all-time scoring list. He’s also 20 points behind Gordie Howe for third all-time on that list. The Atlantic Division All-Star captain now leads the Panthers with 13 goals and 28 points.
The Panthers, meanwhile, extended their lead in the Atlantic to three points over the Montreal Canadiens with a game in-hand.
