Duncan held scoreless for 1st time in 1,360 games
In a career full of accomplishments, Tim Duncan pulled off another career first on Saturday, albeit a rare one.
Duncan was held scoreless for the first time in his 1,360-game career as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Houston Rockets 121-103. He had scored in his first 1,359 contests, the longest streak by any player to begin a career.
Duncan had no points, four rebounds, and two assists in 13 minutes in his return from a three-game absence. He had not played since San Antonio lost to Houston on Dec. 26. He missed the ensuing game for rest, but missed the following two due to right knee soreness.
San Antonio extended its franchise record home start with its 20th straight victory, but this was among its toughest despite the lopsided score. LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points, Kawhi Leonard added 22 and the Spurs made a season-high 13 3-pointers, avenging the 88-84 loss to the Rockets.
