NFL Picks Against the Spread: Week 17 Computer Predictions – Heavy.com

The NFL wraps up the 2015 regular season with Week 17 action this weekend, and the OddsShark Computer expects the favorites to have the slight edge.
The two biggest underdogs projected to cover are the Miami Dolphins and the Cleveland Browns. The Dolphins are a 10.5-point home underdog to the New England Patriots, who are looking to secure home field throughout the AFC playoffs. The computer predicts a Patriots win by a final score of 24.8-16.6.
The Browns are also a 10.5-point home underdog to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The computer predicts a 26.8-21.7 Steelers victory and a Browns cover.
If the computer’s predictions hold true, the Steelers will edge the New York Jets for the final wild card berth in the AFC. The Jets are a three-point road favorite in their second matchup against former head coach Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills. The computer predicts the Bills claiming a 24.2-22 outright win.
The Carolina Panthers are the biggest favorite expected to cover this weekend. The Panthers are a 10.5-point home favorite against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The computer predicts a 31.6-17.6 victory for the Panthers.
The Dallas Cowboys are a 3.5-point home favorite against Washington. Washington clinched the NFC East in Week 16, and is locked into the fourth seed. Head coach Jay Gruden said the team will play healthy starters to maintain momentum, but that can be unpredictable. The OddsShark Computer predicts Washington claims the outright win by a final score of 21.4-21.
The Indianapolis Colts host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, but a line was not established for the game early in the week. The Colts’ quarterback situation is a mystery with Matt Hasselbeck looking doubtful, and Andrew Luck ruled out. Josh Freeman, Ryan Lindley or Stephen Morris could get the start against Zach Mettenberger and the Titans.
The week wraps up with the Green Bay Packers hosting the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football, with the NFC North title on the line. The Packers are a three-point favorite at the sportsbooks, and beat the Vikings in Minnesota earlier this year. The computer predicts the Packers cover in their sweep of the season series, winning by a final score of 25.4-17.
