Zdeno Chara tosses Mark Borowiecki to ice in attempted fight (Video)
Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki had quite the crazy game against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.
In the first period he was flipped by Bruins agitating forward Brad Marchand. In the second period he decided to try to fight 6-foot-9, 250-pound Boston captain Zdeno Chara. The decision did not go so well for the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Borowiecki, who was tossed to the ground by Chara. The tussle came after the two got mixed up in front of the Boston net.
The Bruins beat the Senators 7-3 to end a three-game losing streak. Forward Jimmy Hayes notched his first career hat trick in the Boston victory.
Both were penalized for roughing. According to hockeyfights.com, the 6-foot-9 Chara still has not received a fighting major since Jan. 4, 2014, when he took on Chris Thorburn of the Winnipeg Jets.
Chara dropped Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette last season with one punch. In that situation he did not receive a fighting major.
Borowiecki has six fighting majors this season and had 13 last year for the Senators according to hockeyfights.com.
