Let’s just say you’re Peyton Manning. It’s summer 2015. Your life is exceptional, you’ve reached the pinnacle of your profession — not enough for some whose opinion doesn’t count, but still — you’re held in universal esteem.
And then.
Manning played the worst ball of his career, and some of the worst ball in the entire NFL. Then he got injured. Then he had to deal with his backup winning games, and faced the very real possibility that HE might be the backup. Then came a report from Al Jazeera, of all places, that someone shipped HGH to Manning’s address, and from there the speculation spiraled into the mess it is now.
You know Manning has to be thinking, why did I bother coming back? That’s the topic of today’s podcast, from Manning’s on-field issues to his off-field battles. We also put a lid on Week 16 and look ahead to Week 17. Join us, won’t you?
