Top 5 Must-See Plays from Week 16 in the NFL (Video)
Did you miss any of the Week 16 action in the NFL? We’ve got you covered. Here are five plays you need to check out.
JuliOMG
The Atlanta Falcons ended the Carolina Panthers’ unbeaten season at 14 straight wins with a surprising victory on Sunday. No play was more stunning than Julio Jones’ 70-yard touchdown catch on a broken play. Watch as Jones reaches over Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly to snag the pass, maintain his balance and take it to the house.
Who picked it?
The Cleveland Browns would undercut their effort, of course, by giving the ball away on the next play. But check out this bizarre and impressive interception from Browns linebacker Nate Orchard, who picked off Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith while somehow making it seem like his teammate had the ball. Check out this sleight of hand.
Big-man touchdown
The Arizona Cardinals took it to the Green Bay Packers with a dominant defensive performance. Watch as Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is sacked and fumbles, recovered by Cardinals defensive lineman Cory Redding — all 318 pounds of him — who takes it in for the touchdown, stiff-arming Eddie Lacy on route. Yes, the Cardinals are good at this sort of thing. It was their 14th defensive TD since Bruce Arians became head coach.
Nuk warhead
What Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has done this season with four different quarterbacks is nothing short of amazing. Watch as Brandon Weeden hits Hopkins for a 15-yard touchdown pass on which Hopkins shows he might be among the best of the best at the position, right up there with Jones and Antonio Brown, with plays like this.
Gurley vertical
Todd Gurley was a track and field star in high school, so it’s not shocking he could do this. That would be a fine leap at the end of a great run vs. the Seattle Seahawks, vaulting over over safety Earl Thomas. Gurley fumbled the ball, but St. Louis Rams center Tim Barnes was Johnny on the spot for the recovery, and the Rams beat the Seahawks for the first time in Seattle since the 2004 season.
