Premier League leaders Leicester City travel to Liverpool on Saturday as they aim to continue their impressive run of form this season which has seen them lose just once this season.
The Foxes have been the most consistent and efficient side this season and are now seemingly well placed to make a serious title challenge this season, much to the surprise of everyone.
It will make a most remarkable rags to riches story keeping in mind that this time last year, the Foxes were bottom of the table and looked doomed to be relegated.
On the other hand, Liverpool are still courting mediocrity under new manager Jurgen Klopp with only 12 points in nine games and are placed 9th on the table coming into this match.
The Reds were trounced 3-0 at Watford in their last match after yet another disappointing performance which made the team’s dismantling of Manchester City appear like ages ago.
Crucially though, the Reds are still within sights of a top four finish and are just five points adrift of fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur so they could close the gap if they manage to beat Claudio Ranieri’s men and other result go their way.
Team News
Liverpool are missing a host of players due to injury with Daniel Sturridge, James Milner, Danny Ings, Martin Skrtel and Jon Flanagan all ruled out of this match.
Simon Mignolet should be back in the starting XI after missing the Watford game with a hamstring injury. Jordan Ibe is also expected to replace Roberto Firmino upfront after the Brazilian’s woeful performances in the last few matches.
For Leicester City, Jamie Vardy is a slight doubt but Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante are fit and sure to start the game on Saturday. Robert Huth is also back from suspension and he will be expected to partner with Wes Morgan at center back.
