Dan Uggla wipes out on hoverboard while listening to Justin Bieber
If you’ve left the house at least once in the past six months, chances are you’ve seen at least one person riding a hoverboard.
That’s the fancy name for these items, by the way. They’re not really hoverboards. It would be pretty cool if they were, but these are more like Segway scooters minus the pole.

Anyway, among those joining the craze is Washington Nationals infielder Dan Uggla. We know for a fact at least three Phunkeeduck hoverboards were in motion at his family’s Christmas gathering. We’re guessing they were for Uggla’s two young kids, and it didn’t take them long to give them a test run.
It also didn’t take long for dad, who’s supposed to be an experienced pro at this hoverboard thing, to commit a human error and ended up on keister.
His name is Dan Uggla and he’s fallen off the hoverboard!
An Uggla-fall too.
No worries though. He’s fine physically. He’s just a little embarrassed that…
1) He fell off that thing like an infielder that lost a popup in the sun.
2) That his wife Janette filmed it and posted it on Instagram with this caption.
“Hilarious! He will prob kill me for posting because he is actually amazing on these things like he is at everything but I caught him not paying attention. Also,I’ve seen grown men not even able to get on them and these two kids nailed it on their first day! They got the athlete gene. #phunkeeduck #hoverboard #athletes #ornot #cmondad”
And…
3) We now know he listens to Justin Bieber.

There are several lessons here. First and foremost, don’t listen to Justin Bieber.
Beyond that, hoverboarding can be just as dangerous as anything. If you’re not paying attention or you’re listening to Justin Bieber music, bad things can and likely will happen.
Meanwhile, the kids looked like pros out there cruising around. I for one would not entertain the thought of boarding a hoverboard fearing the same fate as Dan Uggla. But I respect the kids for taking it on and showing us how it’s done.
