Daily Fantasy Soccer: DFS Soccer Week 18
Welcome to Boxing Day! Boxing Day always provides some absolutely fantastic football for us and this one shouldn’t be any different. We have 10 matches, 9 in the main slate, and some really nice tournaments to go with it. DraftKings has a $20 entry fee Boxing Day Classic that pays out $50,000 in prizes, and $10,000 to first place. That one should be a ton of fun! Outside of that, DraftKings seems to have increased their tournament sizes and I’ll focus on their pricing this week as the bigger prices present us with some great opportunities to win.
Let’s get started.
Goalkeepers
DraftKings
With nine matches in this slate, there is quite a selection of goalkeepers this week. The three big options seems to be Hugo Lloris, Joe Hart, and Thibaut Courtois. Hart is the safer cash option, but also comes at a heftier price tag. The sportsbook has both Lloris and Courtois at about a 40% chance at a win-to-win, which carries a 10 point bonus on DraftKings, but if I had to choose one personally, I’d go with Lloris. Despite the new manager, Chelsea are still a risky bet in fantasy games, and they face a really solid Watford side that has goals in them. Tottenham, on the other side, face a much worse Norwich City, at home, that presents them with a fantastic chance at a win and a shutout. I really shouldn’t have to say much about Hart, who is the clear top dog here.
On the cheaper side of things, I’d recommend going after Guzan, Boruc, or Fabianski. A decent option with a really high upside is Petr Cech, who should be considered in GPPs.
Scorers
DraftKings
The sports books like the duo of Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane the best, and that’s certainly understandable. Harry Kane faces a Norwich side that has let in an incredible number of goals this season and can’t keep anyone out. The Spurs, on the other hand, have played well recently and Kane has recovered some of his form from last season. There is certainly opportunity to be had there. Aguero, on the other hand, faces Sunderland, and I shouldn’t have to say much about that one. It’s best versus worst, or at least very close to it, and it should be a huge game in Manchester City’s favor.
Outside of those two, the sports books like Diego Costa and Liverpool’s Origi. Both play at home and are struggling at the moment, but matchups and new team situations present value to be had in GPPs. Outside of Origi, I wouldn’t consider many other cheap forwards.
Good luck everyone!
