Amazing Alec Burks dunk excites everyone but his coach
Sometimes garbage time yields treasures. Utah Jazz guard Alec Burks gave us one such highlight late in the fourth quarter of his team’s 110-89 blowout of the Phoenix Suns.

With 2:11 remaining in regulation and the result clearly decided, Burks drove to his left and rose up for this emphatic Dunk of the Year contender on Suns big man Jon Leuer. The finish speaks for itself:
Burks’s teammates seemed to agree, because the bench erupted in celebration. Even forward Trevor Booker, on the court with an excellent angle on the play, let loose (via Utah’s lieutenant governor, of all people):
Pretty good celebration, right? Well, apparently Jazz head coach Quin Snyder didn’t agree:
Ever the perfectionist coach, Snyder managed to see the dark side of what will probably be one of the most exciting plays of his team’s season. Devin Booker finished a lay-up 11 seconds later to give the Suns two points, cutting the Jazz lead to a still-insurmountable 102-81 with 2:00 on the clock. However, Booker seems to agree that he did not keep his eye on the necessary winning habit:
I suppose Snyder has a point, because the best teams keep their focus no matter what. He just shouldn’t be surprised if he gets a visit from the Fun Police some time this week.
