Aleksander Barkov’s nifty move gives Panthers shootout win (Video)
The Florida Panthers beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 after a shootout Sunday afternoon. The Cats earned the extra point thanks to Aleksander Barkov’s nifty little move to beat Jacob Markstrom.
(Markstrom relieved Ryan Miller after Miller injured himself following Florida’s first shootout attempt.)
Barkov’s move will bring back memories of Pavel Bure’s fantastic stick-to-skate goal he scored during preseason in 1996 against the Boston Bruins.
The win was Florida’s fourth in a row, helping them move into third place in the Metropolitan Division. Earlier in the game, Jaromir Jagr moved to third all-time on the NHL’s goal scoring list with his 732nd career goal.
