Reports: Five-star QB Kyler Murray to transfer from Texas A&M
Texas A&M quarterback Kyler Murray will transfer, according to several reports.
The reports surfaced less than 24 hours after coach Kevin Sumlin told media he not only planned to have Murray start the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30, but also practice in the spring.
Murray missed practice Wednesday, which Sumlin said he encouraged him to do. But when Murray missed Thursday’s practice, reports that he was on his way out the door began to swarm social media.

Murray and his family met with Sumlin and staff Tuesday evening and the meeting id not go well. He two parties reconnected on Wednesday and even then, rumors of Murray’s impending transfer began to swirl.
Sumlin managed to quell the rumors for a day, but it was clear his second five-star quarterback was leaving the program.
Last week, Kyle Allen announced via social media that he was leaving the A&M program to find another place to play. With both quarterbacks gone, A&M will turn to Jake Hubenak, a junior college transfer and the only scholarship quarterback on the roster. Moreover, A&M does not have a quarterback in its current 2016 class and many of the top junior college prospects signed earlier this week.
Texas A&M has not confirmed Murray’s departure and Murray has not commented.
